Cadets Section
The Club has a large cadet section currently running at around 100 young people aged between 12 to 18 years. These are both club and non-club member’s children. Cadet night, during the sailing season, is held on Friday evenings starting at 1730; the emphasis is concentrated on getting as many as possible on the water. During the winter cadet evenings are held fortnightly on Fridays with an interesting and varied programme of events.

Dinghy Racing
Dinghy racing is held on Tuesdays, throughout the season, with the first start at 1830. There are classes for fast, medium and slow handicaps and cadets are encouraged to take part using either the club’s or their own boats.

Yacht Racing
Yacht racing is held on Thursday evenings, throughout the season, with starts in IRC, PYA and PYB. The first start is at 1800. The OODs take great care to provide the best course for the prevailing conditions but are always mindful that the crews also wish, at some stage, to get ashore to sample the delights of the bar and galley!

Cruising
There is a large and active cruising section which organises a number of weekend cruises and a main summer cruise for which there is generally much interest. The annual cruise to our twin town of Plougastel often attracts over 15 yachts and 60 people.

Winter Programme During the winter a full and interesting programme of presentations, demonstrations, and purely social events is provided on a Thursday evening commencing at around 1945.

Gig Section

The Caradon Gig Club, the current World Champions, is affiliated to Saltash Sailing Club and shares the clubhouse and facilities.

With this brief insight into our varied activities why not come and see us - you will always get a friendly welcome!
