Late spring bank holiday cruise |

STOP PRESS
I have heard from the Marina in Guernsey and they look forward to welcoming us again for late Bank Holiday May. (10 boats plus pencilled in their log)
At the moment I have had lots of promises but only 5 signed up on the board in the club. I hope we don't let St.Peter Port down.
We have also been invited to the RNSA reception on the Saturday evening.

For this years Late Spring Bank Holiday (May 31st), I would be happy to arrange a cruise to Guernsey based on our last one in 2008.
For those who are able, we will depart SSC on Thursday 27th for Salcombe then onwards to St Peter Port for a daytime passage on Friday 28th. We should be able to berth in Victoria Marina late pm.
Alternatively depart SSC on Friday and do a night passage to St Peter Port berthing am on Saturday 29th. (Watch out for Racers.)
I would arrange provisional block booking for Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights and I feel fairly confident that so long as we give plenty of notice the Marina would be flexible on the number of nights and give us a discounted fee. Last time they were very happy to accommodate us.
I will post a notice in the near future in the Club for those interested and would ask you to submit name of boat, owner, loa, draft and expected nights in the Marina. (All depends on weather of course!)
Last time, as organiser, I had to pay all the berthing fees and recoup from the boats afterwards. This time I would be grateful for say a £10 refundable deposit towards the fees in advance, the balance to be collected on arrival. If you don't make it over the deposit will be repaid in full (without interest!). Deposits to be handed to me middle/end of May
It is hoped that we would once again be invited to the RNSA reception as last time, to join with the racing fraternity and exchange friendly banter(!!) over a glass of wine.
Once over the channel your time is yours to do as you please, ie, continue cruising or return home as time allows. (Maybe a pontoon party to celebrate our arrival ??).
