Dinghy Cruising

Wednesday evening dinghy sailing is set to continue again this year and we look forward to sailing with existing participants and welcoming new members to the various trips and activities on Wednesday evenings.

 

This remains an activity principally for club members who have access to their own dinghy's but we welcome new participants who would like to use the activity as a sailing taster and route to joining Saltash Sailing Club. We are pleased to be able to use club boats but encourage and welcome anyone who has their own boat to come along.

Sailing sessions will start towards the end of April or early May and a week- by-week programme will be made available in due course. This is not a sailing course for beginners, although instruction will be provided when appropriate to progress participants and to maintain the safety of all group members. We are however pleased that everyone who comes along gains experience and increased expertise through both informal and formal guidance.

​We just ask you to let us know you are attending and to get down to the Club by 17:00 as we are out out on the water by 18:00. Once the boats are rigged it's a couple of hours out on the water and then we retire to the bar for well-earned refreshments!

​Dinghy Cruising is weather dependent and coordination concerning weather conditions, attendees and plans for the evening is via a dedicated WhatsApp group.

​During the winter the group arranges some social evenings for participants which generally involve some curry and drinks.
